Ajmer Blast: Former RSS Pracharak Sunil Joshi and two others convicted

The case was fast-tracked after the change of government at the Centre in 2014.

Jaipur, Mar 8: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) special court on Wednesday convicted three out of 13 accused in the case, three of whom are absconding, seven acquitted. Those who got convicted were former RSS Pracharak Sunil Joshi (who was murdered in 2007), Devendra Gupta (former RSS vibhag pracharak of Muzaffarnagar, Bihar.) and Bhavesh Patel.

The investigating agencies had found the involvement of the right-wing Hindutva organisations, which were later suspected to be linked to several other blast cases.

Swamy Aseemanand, who had given the confession on 18 December 2010 to the Tis hazari Court in Delhi, is among the seven acquitted in the case.

The court imposed a fine of Rs. 1 lakh each on both the remaining convicts. On March 16, the sentences for both the convicts is to be pronounced.
